I resisted the iPhone because it's a walled garden. Jobs' vision isn't mine (and I'm allergic to Macs, had one for a year but it literally corroded from my touch.. fortunately Ubuntu today works quite well on mainstream notebooks). You may have noticed Canada will be getting its first Android phone June 2. I'm very excited - any device, particularly a mobile, that dares to include the concept of "open source" as part of its definition could indeed be part of a "revolution." I have to say that I am amazed at the lack of coverage compared to the iPhone....

My friends Mark and Tonya have been using the "Google phone" in Canada for some time now, and I'm always trying to pry it from their hands so I can play with it. However, when I do use it, I find that -- like early version of Linux -- it's a bit rough around the edges still. (Not to mention that rather Google-specific nature of some of its applications.)
